DESCRIPTION:Administrative Staff ConferenceLodgingSchedule of EventsRegistrationContact UsFinal Details\n\nThe law enforcement administrative staff’s role continues to be vital to the effective operations of the Office of Sheriff.  The employee must be knowledgeable of everyday operations and statutes that pertain specifically to the Office of Sheriff\, skills to serve the public as well as co-workers\, and tools to maintain rationality in an ever-changing world. \n\n\n\nThis four-day conference will provide up to fifteen hours of extensive training and networking opportunities to office deputies\, administrative staff\, secretaries\, and other sheriff’s office staff with a need for this training. \n\n\n\nTentative training topics include:  PTSD for First Responders-Road to Recovery in the Face of Trauma\, Beneath the Surface – Human Trafficking Awareness\, Open Records & Record Retention\, Legislative & Governmental Affairs\, Office of Sheriff Accreditation and more.  \n\n\n\nJoin us at: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGreat Wolf Lodge                            150 Tom Hall ParkwayLaGrange\, GA 30240 \n\n\n\nRoom Rates: \n\n\n\nGreat Wolf Lodge: $99 per night Monday night – Wednesday night+ Georgia hotel fee of $5.00 and tax per room per night. *Training begins at 4:00 pm on Monday and concludes at noon on Thursday so please make your reservations accordingly.  \n\n\n\nReservations: ***Please Read Carefully***\n\n\n\nGreat Wolf Lodge:  Call (1-866-751-9653) and advise that you are attending the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association – Administrative Staff Conference. The reference Block Code is 2408GSAA.   \n\n\n\nThe check-in time is 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM.  \n\n\n\nTaxes – Hotel room rates are subject to applicable guest tax\, occupancy tax\, and state and local taxes\, subject to change in accordance with applicable law. \n\n\n\nTax-Exempt Groups – Groups requesting tax exemption must submit a valid tax-exempt form at least thirty (30) days prior to their scheduled function. \n\n\n\n***For individually paid reservations: guests must provide proper tax exemption documentation at least (1) one week prior to arrival. \n\n\n\nThe reservation (s) must be made in the name of the individual who is tax exempt and paid with the organization’s credit card or checking account (certified check must be received 30 days in advance of arrival).  To be exempt from state AND county lodging tax\, each guest must provide a Certificate of Exemption of Local Hotel/Motel Excise Tax Form and a State of Georgia Sales Tax Exemption Form (ST-5). Forms are to be emailed to gataxforms@greatwolf.com along with the Group name\, name of guest(s) and confirmation number. \n\n\n\nReservations Deadline:  Friday\, July 26\, 2024.  Reservations must be made by the deadline or the group rate will not be available. \n\n\n\nCancellations: You must cancel your reservations 72 hours PRIOR to the conference date to avoid a cancellation or no show charge. \n\n\n\nEarly Checkout:  Any guest who departs the hotel before his or her scheduled date of departure will be charged one night room and tax in addition to any charges accrued during their stay.  Guests will have the opportunity to verify and amend their departure date and check-in without penalty for the individual. \n\n\n\nParking: Self parking. \n\n\n\n\n\nAll training will be held at the Great Wolf Lodge \n\n\n\n\nRegistration is 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Monday\, August 26\, in the Conference Center Registration booth.\n\n\n\nTraining begins at 4:00 p.m. on Monday; concludes at noon on Thursday.\n\n\n\nCertified deputies may receive up to sixteen hours P.O.S.T. credit if conference is attended in its entirety.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIMPORTANT: If mailing a check\, please be sure to indicate “Administrative Staff Conference Registration Fee” in the memo section. \n\n\n\nYou must pre-register by completing the online registration form below.\n\n\n\nRegistration deadline is August 19\, 2024.\n\n\n\nRegistration fees are non-refundable for cancellations made 10 days or less prior to the starting date of the training event.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\n\n\nLodging/Training\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVisit this site after August 19\, 2024 for final training details.
