This complicated process requires specialized training to effectively enforce the sex offender registry statutes. Sheriff’s office personnel who are newly assigned to Sex Offender Registration and Enforcement\, have not received any formal training\, or feel they need a refresher on the basics\, are strongly encouraged to attend. This 14-hour course will cover the sex offender laws and basic registration & enforcement procedures. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe GSA will NOT reserve a block of rooms for students for this event. Request forms for SORT and SSL VPN user id and passwords are available on the GCIC website at http://gcicweb.gbi.state.ga.us \n\n\n\n\nDress: Business – casual dress is welcome\, unless your agency requires you to wear your uniform; just remember you are representing your sheriff’s office. You may want to bring a jacket in case the classroom is chilly.
