This complicated process requires specialized training to effectively enforce the sex offender registry statutes. Sheriff’s office personnel who are newly assigned to Sex Offender Registration and Enforcement\, have not received any formal training\, or feel they need a refresher on the basics\, are strongly encouraged to attend. This 14-hour course will cover the sex offender laws and basic registration & enforcement procedures. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe GSA will NOT reserve a block of rooms for students for this event. DESCRIPTION:C.H.A.M.P.S. Summer Conference InformationLodgingRegistrationScheduleContact\n\nThe C.H.A.M.P.S. Summer Conference provides an opportunity for C.H.A.M.P.S. Instructors to receive valuable training and allow for essential networking opportunities for instructors across the state. To maintain an effective teaching edge\, C.H.A.M.P.S. instructors must be provided with knowledge on current teaching trends and other vital resources to maintain a positive image and provide young students with a secure learning environment\, which fosters good public relations between the public and the Sheriff’s Office. In addition\, this three day conference will meet the MOU requirements to send every instructor to a refresher course a minimum of every three years to sustain his/her instructor status in good standing. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSea Palms Resort515 N. Windward DriveSt. Simons Island\, GA 31522 \n\n\n\nRoom Rate: $209 plus 7% sales tax\, 7% occupancy tax\, plus $5 per room/night state fee plus daily resort fee of $35 per night\, per room.
