DESCRIPTION:C.H.A.M.P.S. Summer Conference InformationLodgingRegistrationScheduleContact\n\nThe C.H.A.M.P.S. Summer Conference provides an opportunity for C.H.A.M.P.S. Instructors to receive valuable training and allow for essential networking opportunities for instructors across the state. To maintain an effective teaching edge\, C.H.A.M.P.S. instructors must be provided with knowledge on current teaching trends and other vital resources to maintain a positive image and provide young students with a secure learning environment\, which fosters good public relations between the public and the Sheriff’s Office. In addition\, this three day conference will meet the MOU requirements to send every instructor to a refresher course a minimum of every three years to sustain his/her instructor status in good standing. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSea Palms Resort515 N. Windward DriveSt. Simons Island\, GA 31522 \n\n\n\nRoom Rate: $209 plus 7% sales tax\, 7% occupancy tax\, plus $5 per room/night state fee plus daily resort fee of $35 per night\, per room. To claim tax-exempt status\, you must present a tax-exempt form at check-in. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. or later; check-out is 11:00 a.m. \n\n\n\nReservations: Make your room reservations by calling 912-638-3351 and request the group rate in the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association room block. NOTICE: All individual reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card\, advance deposit or cash deposit. Deposits are non-refundable unless individual cancellations are received 48 hours prior to arrival. \n\n\n\nReservations deadline to secure the special room rate is June 7\, 2026. DESCRIPTION:Administrative Staff ConferenceLodgingSchedule of EventsRegistrationContact Us\n\nThe law enforcement administrative staff’s role continues to be vital to the effective operations of the Office of Sheriff.  The employee must be knowledgeable of everyday operations and statutes that pertain specifically to the Office of Sheriff\, skills to serve the public as well as co-workers\, and tools to maintain rationality in an ever-changing world. \n\n\n\nThis four-day conference will provide up to fifteen hours of extensive training and networking opportunities to office deputies\, administrative staff\, secretaries\, and other sheriff’s office staff with a need for this training. \n\n\n\nTentative training topics include:  Ethics\, Awareness\, Open Records & Record Retention\, Legislative & Governmental Affairs\, Office of Sheriff Mandates and more.  \n\n\n\nJoin us at: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSea Palms515 N.
