Sex Offender Registry Management Conference

The Georgia Sex Offender Registry statutes continue to significantly impact the manner in which offenders are registered and tracked, placing additional responsibilities on each sheriff’s office. The Georgia Sheriffs’ Association Training Academy continues its commitment of providing ongoing support and training on mandates imposed on the Office of Sheriff.

All training will take place at the Great Wolf Lodge.

Room Rate & Reservations: Contact The Great Wolf Lodge by calling the Central Reservations Department at 1-866-751-9653 or online at www.greatwolf.com/georgia and request a room in the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association block with reservation code: 2411GSAS.

The room rate is $99+tax nightly (single or double occupancy) and there is no charge for parking.  All room rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes and fees (these fees are subject to change at the discretion of the state) and $5 state hotel-motel fee per night.

*Conference registration on-site is Monday, September 9 from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm & Tuesday, September 10 from 7:30 am-8:30 am so make your lodging reservations accordingly.

NOTE: To claim tax-exempt status, provide a tax-exempt form (1) one week prior to arrival.  The reservation(s) must be made in the name of the individual who is tax exempt and paid with the organizations’ credit card.  E-mail tax exempt forms to gataxforms@greatwolf.com along with the group name – 2411GSAS, name of guest(s) and confirmation number.

Check in is at 4:00 pm; check-out is 11:00 am.

Lodging Reservations Deadline: August 9, 2024 or until the reservation block is full.

Cancellation Policy: All individual reservations must be accompanied by a one night’s deposit in the form of a check or credit card. Deposits are non-refundable unless individual cancellation is received more than 72 hours prior to arrival.

This training is for all personnel who are involved with the registration, tracking, and prosecution of a sex offender. Each sheriff’s office is encouraged to send at least one representative to this conference.

  • Registration deadline is August 29, 2024.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable for cancellations made 10 days or less prior to the starting date of the training event.

POWERPOINTS AND HANDOUTS

GSA will NOT provide hard copies of PowerPoints and handouts to attendees for the conference.

HOWEVER, PP and handouts made available to us in advance will be provided electronically on a thumbdrive.

DRESS CODE

Dress code is business casual, please remember that you are representing your agency. Bring a light jacket in case the temperature is cold in the training room.
