The Georgia Sheriffs’ Association will conduct the annual C.H.A.M.P.S. Instructor Training course June 19 – 30, 2023. C.H.A.M.P.S. (Choosing Healthy Activities and Methods Promoting Safety) is an intensive 80-hour mandatory course for all new C.H.A.M.P.S. Instructors. The course consists of a variety of topics, which include classroom management techniques, drug education, ATV safety, gangs, boating safety, hunting safety, internet safety, child abduction safety, etc. The C.H.A.M.P.S. Instructor is a unique deputy sheriff, capable of performing duties in an adult world and then transitioning into an effective teacher of children in an educational / classroom setting. This course is a Pass / Fail course. The Georgia Sheriffs’ Association along with Georgia’s Sheriffs takes this training seriously. The days will be long, however, we are confident you will appreciate the training and walk away with newfound insight, knowledge and friends.
