Open Records Training Seminar
September 10 @ 8:00 am – 12:30 pm
Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Law, all state, county, and municipal records, except those specifically exempted from being open to inspection by the general public, shall be open for a personal inspection by any citizen of this state at a reasonable time and place. It is those records not subject to public disclosure or portions of records that must be redacted that raises questions. It is critical that law enforcement be as well informed as possible regarding the laws governing the access of the public to the information that government has.
Due to the overwhelming requests for training on this topic, GSA is offering an Open Records for Law Enforcement training. Presented by Cheryl Savage with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, this approximate 4-hour class is scheduled for September 10, 2025. Each student will receive a copy of the 2014 edition of Georgia Law Enforcement and the Open Records Act “blue book”.
The class is limited to 70 students. Please register early.
