Provide the deputy with a working knowledge of the types of civil process handled by the sheriff’s office, to include writs, summons, ejectment, procedures, and garnishment cases and other court orders such as extradition procedures and detainers.
This mandated certification course provides basic training for jail officers.An employee supervising inmates – in any capacity – must be a certified jail officer.An online POST application MUST be completed and approved 2 days PRIOR to the class start date.

The purpose of this training is to familiarize the deputy with the transportation of the mentally ill and the unique problems associated with such transportation. This block will also address the laws applicable to commitment of the mentally ill.
