Provide the deputy with a working knowledge of the types of civil process handled by the sheriff’s office, to include writs, summons, ejectment, procedures, and garnishment cases and other court orders such as extradition procedures and detainers.

The Jail Management Conference will provide intensive training to sheriffs, jail administrators and jail supervisory personnel on management techniques to improve the operational effectiveness of the jail. In addition, this conference presents networking opportunities with jail managers across the state.

The Jail Training Officer’s primary goal is to prepare the newly hired trainee to perform at an acceptable level and become an asset to the jail division. During this process, the JTO will train, observe, and evaluate the progress of each trainee.
